Day Camp - Trailblazers Overnight Camp (Completed 3rd to 6th Grades)

Trailblazers Overnight Camp:  Monday, July 27-31, 2026 - Class #32446

NEW FOR 2026 - This camping experience is for kids who have completed 3rd through 6th Grades!

Trailblazers Overnight Camp will take place at Reinhardt Redwood Regional Park in the Oakland Hills.  Reinhardt Redwood Regional Park provides the natural setting for the outdoor fun of hiking, camp skills (i.e., orienteering), nature crafts, cooking AND CAMPING UNDER THE STARS!  All campers will spend the program day enjoying outdoor activities.  A swimming field trip will take place on Friday.

We will provide transportation from Alameda to Reinhard Redwood Regional Park for all campers by bus.  See below for more information regarding your drop-off/pick-up locations in Alameda.  **IMPORTANT - be sure you indicate your drop-off/pick-up location site when you register online or by registration form.**

A week before your camp session, you will be sent a detailed letter with specific instructions on what to bring for the overnight experience and daily drop-off and pick-up instructions.

Each camper will get his/her very own commemorative t-shirt to celebrate our 73rd year of Day Camp!  Full payment is required at time of registration.  Pre-registration is required for this program.

**ARPD Disclaimer:  Registrations that are emailed, faxed or dropped off could have delayed processing.  Registering online will be your best opportunity to secure a spot in one of the ARPD Programs!  If your desired program is full, place your child on the waiting list as additional program may be added to meet the demand of registration.

 

PLEASE NOTE:
Please provide details regarding your child's medical needs and/or any physical, emotional or developmental disabilities they may have.  Safety is of the utmost importance for all ARPD participants.  Providing ARPD with this information is necessary so that we may determine if and how we can safely support your child.  Accommodations are made on a case-by-case basis with a Program Supervisor.

Campers are bussed to and from camp daily with the exception of:

  • Tuesday, July 28, 2026 (Afternoon)
  • Wednesday, July 29, 2026
  • Thursday, July 30, 2026 (Morning)

Please indicate your Drop-Off/Pick-Up Location Site on your registration form.

There will be three options for Drop-Off/Pick-Up locations in Alameda:

IMPORTANT - PLEASE NOTE:   ON THURSDAY, JULY 30, 2026THERE IS ONLY ONE DROP-OFF LOCATION FOR ALL CAMPERS:  KRUSI PARK/OTIS SCHOOL (in front of Otis School on Fillmore Street)

Alameda Residents - $525 / Non-Residents - $599

There is a $50 service fee if you decide to withdraw

TRAILBLAZERS OVERNIGHT CAMP SCHEDULE:

  • Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday, July 28, 29 & 30, 2026

  • Overnights will take place on the evenings of July 28 & 29, 2026

Tuesday, July 28, 2026:

  • Drop off your child at 8:30 am at your pick-up site

  • Overnight at Reinhardt Redwood Regional Park

  • Dinner Provided (Camping Equipment Required)

Wednesday, July 29, 2026:

  • All day and overnight at Reinhardt Redwood Regional Park

  • Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Provided

Thursday, July 30, 2026:

  • Breakfast and Lunch Provided

  • 4:30 p.m. - Return to Krusi Park/Otis School in Alameda (One Pick-Up Site)

CLOTHING:
Each camper should be prepared with enough clothing to survive the most probable adverse conditions for this camp:  long pants, boots (sturdy closed-toe shoes), socks (pile or wool), shirts and/or sweaters (have several, including a wool or pile one to utilize the layer system), long underwear, parka or jacket (wind and water resistant) and pile cap and/or sun visor (no sandals, no shorts).  Label all clothing.

MEALS:
Campers should eat breakfast before boarding the bus for camp.  Bring a bag lunch for Tuesday.  Campers will participate in the following cookouts:  Tuesday's dinner, Wednesday's breakfast, lunch and dinner and Thursday's breakfast and lunch.  If campers wish to bring snacks, they should be non-perishable.

MEDICAL EXAMINATION:
It is strongly recommended that campers have a physical examination before they attend.  A tetanus or booster shot is also recommended.  Consult your family physician.

CAMPER EQUIPMENT:
To make this overnight experience an enjoyable one, campers should bring:  ground cloth, sleeping bag in a waterproof stuff bag, sleeping pad, flashlight, personal toilet items, biodegradable soap, backpack, insect repellent, handkerchief, litter bag, sunscreen and sunglasses.  Optional:  Campers may bring a tent.  ARPD Staff will assist campers with tent set up.

INCLEMENT WEATHER:
Camp will meet rain or shine.  In case of rain, rain gear should be included.

 CAMP RULES:
It is mandatory that campers remain with their Leaders/Groups.  No one is allowed to leave the area without prior arrangement with ARPD Staff.  Campers must abide by all park safety rules, as well as keeping the area clean.

The camper and/or parent/guardian is responsible for any financial responsibility due to vandalism.  There will be NO use of alcohol or illegal drugs.  Violations of any of the above will result in camper being sent home and refunds will not be issued.

You must cancel or withdraw at least one week before the program starts to receive a credit on your ARPD account for future use.
