Established in 2018, Jean Sweeney Open Space Park is located at 1925 Sherman Street. It is located on the former Alameda Beltline Railroad property that was secured by the City at its original purchase price due to the advocacy efforts of local resident, Jean Sweeney.

The Jean Sweeney Open Space Fund is a non-profit organization that provides funding assistance to the Alameda Recreation and Parks Department for the park.
