Program Outline For Summer 2020 Programs

We are making program changes as explained below, based on the Alameda County Health Department summer camp and child care guidelines.  Staff will wear masks while onsite, and will adhere to a rigorous cleaning and disinfection routine and safety protocols.

Program Outline:

Campers and staff will remain in stable groups of twelve (12) for the duration of the 3-week session.  One to two week sessions are not available.  Family members or anyone living in the same household will be in the same group.  The small groups will not interact with other groups during the camp program.  This is to minimize and limit virus exposure.  In addition, the camps will all take place outside with recreation centers being used only for restrooms and staff prep.

Staff and campers will be required to complete a daily wellness check, including having their temperature taken at check-in.  There will be pick-up and drop-off loading zones so there is no contact between parents and other campers.  Campers will be escorted to and from their cars by ARPD Staff.  Parents will not be permitted into the building or around other campers for their safety.  When dropping off and picking up a camper, you must show identification in the form of a driver's license for the camper to be released, as well as answer the wellness check questions.

Locations for our programs may be subject to change, based on registrations, and to better meet the Alameda County Health requirements with small groups at multiple parks.  You will be contacted by email of any changes to your camper's program site.

Please note that County Health requirements may continue to change.  We will do our best to keep you informed regarding any programming changes and we will continue to comply with the most current safety guidelines.

At present, there will be no out of town field trips.  Local Alameda field trips may be allowed based on safety guidelines.
