WOW Extended Care Program (WOW-X)

WHAT IS WOW-X PROGRAM?

There are lots of other optional recreational, sports, science and day camps or classes offered by ARPD throughout the summer which take place during a portion of the day (for example, mornings only or afternoons only).

You can combine some of our Special Interest Classes and Camp Programs with our WOW Program for Before and After Extended Care.  We call it WOW-X!
  • WOW Leaders will walk children to and from their WOW-X site to and from their optional other program
  • WOW-X will not be offered for Bayport and Franklin WOW sites
Children must meet our age requirements for the WOW-X Program:
Completed All-Day Kindergarten to 4th Grades as of Summer 2026

EXCEPTION:  Those who have completed 5th Grades may register for Washington WOW-X Program for Trails End Day Camp Only

How Do We Register For WOW-X?

Register and pay for the Special Interest Class/Camp first, and then add the Before and After Child Care WOW-X Program.

Do not sign up for the regular weekly WOW Camp as your child will not be on the proper roster to be taken to and from the Special Interest Class/Camp Program.

Please Note:
Please provide details regarding your child's medical needs and/or any physical, emotional or developmental disabilities they may have.  Safety is of the utmost importance for all ARPD participants.  Providing ARPD wit this information is necessary so that we may determine if and how we can safely support your child.  Accommodations are made on a case-by-case basis with a Program Supervisor.
WOW Program Dates and Hours:

WOW-X Program will not be offered at Bayport Park

Franklin, Godfrey, Krusi and Washington WOW:
Monday, June 15 to Friday, August 7, 2026
8:00 am to 5:30 pm
Drop your child off at your assigned WOW site when it opens at 8:00 am or at least 30 minutes before your child's other optional class or camp start time. This will allow enough time for ARPD Staff to walk your child to his/her other class or camp on time.

If you are dropping your child off at the class or camp directly, please let ARPD Staff know so we will not wait for your child.

Please do not be late as once we leave the WOW site, we cannot go back to pick up your child.
Once your child's optional class or camp is over, ARPD Staff will pick up and walk your child back to his/her assigned WOW site. Parents/guardians need to pick up children from their WOW site no later than 5:30 pm.

There is a $1 per minute per child late fee for every minute you are late picking up your child from WOW - payable that day.
The cost of WOW-X is lower than the regular weekly WOW price because your child is only at the WOW site for a portion of the day.  Prices for WOW-X will vary due to the length of the other optional class or camp and time spent at WOW-X.  See list below for the complete list of the list of classes/camps, along with the assigned WOW site.
Due to the location of the optional classes or camps, your child must attend the assigned WOW site for before and after child care.
Children need to bring a bag lunch daily.  If your child is not at the WOW site during the 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm lunch hour, your child must take his/her lunch with him/her to the optional class or camp.
Participants are expected to attend their special interest class/camp daily.  Participants cannot stay at their WOW site instead of attending the optional classes or camps.
All children must meet our age requirements for the WOW-X Program:  Completed All-Day Kindergarten to 4th Grades as of Summer 2026.
ARPD reserves the right to cancel WOW-X due to low enrollment.
