City Accepting Nominations for 7th Annual Community Service Awards

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2020 Community Service Awards, recognizing exceptional Alamedans who have made tremendous contributions to our community, particularly in advancing racial justice or responding to the COVID-19 crisis.

The Community Service Awards nomination packet may be downloaded here. Nominations may come from anyone in the community and must be emailed to abagtas@alamedaca.gov no later than 5:00 pm on Thursday, October 8, 2020. Winners from the past five years are not eligible to be nominated. Nominations are being accepted for the following nine categories:

  1. Community Service Jim Franz Lifetime Achievement Award
  2. Community Service Volunteer of the Year Award 
  3. Community Service Individual Award
  4. Community Service Group Award (2 or more people) -- New Category
  5. Community Service Non-Profit Board Member Award
  6. Community Service Non-Profit Organization Award
  7. Community Service Youth Award
  8. Community Service Business Person Award
  9. Community Service Business Award

Mayor Marilyn Ezzy Ashcraft and the City of Alameda’s Social Service Human Relations Board will honor this year’s recipients at the Virtual 7th Annual Community Service Awards Ceremony on Thursday, November 5, 2020.
