Vehicle and Pedestrian Collision:On 12/7 at 8:14 am, officers responded to the 1600 block of Fifth Street for the report of a collision involving a person driving a vehicle and two pedestrians.The preliminary investigation suggests the driver committed a vehicle violation that caused the collision. The pedestrians were taken to a local hospital for further medical evaluation. #23-08261
Negligent Discharge of a Firearm:On 12/9 at 3:20 am, officers responded to the 300 block of Maitland Drive for the report of a noise disturbance. As officers approached a home, they heard a single gunshot and immediately established a perimeter. After 40 minutes, the suspect surrendered. Officers located a firearm and evidence that the weapon had been fired from inside of the home. No injuries were reported and the suspect was taken into custody. #23-08296
Armed Robbery:On 12/12 at 12:15 pm, officers responded to the 1700 block of Webster Street for the report of a robbery involving a firearm. The victims were approached by multiple individuals who demanded the victim’s property. It was determined that three suspects were involved in the incident. Since that time, all three suspects have been taken into custody. #23-08408
Armed Robbery:On 12/13 at 9:00 pm, officers responded to the South Shore Shopping Center for the report of an armed robbery. When a loss prevention officer attempted to prevent a theft, the suspect brandished a firearm. During a search of the area, officers located the suspect. A replica firearm was recovered and the stolen merchandise was returned to the business. #23-08450
Fatal Collision:On 12/31 at 11:35 am, officers responded to a report of an injury collision involving one vehicle at the 1300 block of Marina Village Parkway. Upon arriving, officers located an adult with major injuries, who succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The preliminary investigation suggests the driver lost control of their vehicle and struck a tree. APD’s Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) assumed the investigation. #23-08845
