Facade Grant Program

Fiscal Year 2025-2026 Façade Grants are Open!

The City of Alameda's Façade Grant Program provides business and property owners with matching grants to improve their storefronts and enhance the city’s retail districts. Under the Façade Grant Program, business and property owners may be eligible for matching grants up to $15,000 for exterior painting, new awnings and signs, and refurbishment of architectural features.

The Fiscal Year 2025-2026 Façade Grant Program opened for applications starting November 13th 2026.

The application deadlines for the FY 2025-26 program are:

  • January 12, 2026
  • April 9, 2026

To submit an application, please download and submit the materials below.

The City of Alameda’s (City) Vacant Building Improvement Program (Program) provides 50/50 matching grants to business and property owners in the Downtown Alameda and West Alameda business districts for the completion of interior and exterior building improvements to improve a vacant property for a new tenant.
