High School Student Opportunities

The City of Alameda offers high school students a variety of opportunities to get involved, contribute to the community, and gain valuable work experience.

City of Alameda Summer Internship

The City of Alameda offers annual summer internship opportunities for students aged 16 and older. These internships provide valuable hands-on experience across various City departments. Program details are typically released in March, with applications due by mid-May.

Season for Nonviolence Student Speech Contest

The Season for Nonviolence is a 64-day observance held from January 30 to April 4, honoring the lives and legacies of Mahatma Gandhi, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and other advocates of peace and nonviolence.

Each year, the City hosts a Season for Nonviolence Student Speech Contest to engage and inspire youth voices on the topics of peace, justice, and community.
