PARENTS/GUARDIANS:

Your tween/teen is responsible for all correspondence regarding the Summer Teen Volunteer Programs; beginning with the application process and continuing throughout their volunteer service.

This program strives to prepare your child for his/her first job.  The more responsibility that your tween/teen volunteer has in the successful execution of completing their service, the better prepared they will be to apply for jobs and enter the workplace.  Please ask your teen/tween to call, email, organize and initiate!  Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.

Questions?  Please direct your teen/tween to contact Shawn Smith, Recreation Supervisor I, at sdsmith@alamedaca.gov or (510) 747-7555.

All applicants must complete an Application Form and participate in a Group Interview (with the exception of Operation Green Sweep applicants).  See below for available interview dates.

Interviews do not guarantee acceptance in the Summer Teen Volunteer Program.  You must include your $50 fee with your completed application form.  Applicants are charged upon acceptance into the program.

  • All Tweens/Teens must sign up and attend ONE Group Interview.  Interviews are not confirmed after application is submitted.
