Under the command of Captain Alan Kuboyama, the Police Department's Bureau of Professional Standards oversees essential units that ensure the department’s operations run smoothly and effectively. These include the Community Oriented Policing and Problem Solving Unit, Inspectional Services Unit, Media Relations Unit, Personnel & Training Unit, Policy Development, and the Property & Evidence Unit, as well as the Records Division. The Bureau is also responsible for ensuring that staff and officers are equipped with the necessary tools, equipment, and training to excel in their roles and provide the highest level of service to the community.
Records requests can be submitted in person during our hours of operation. Requests can also be submitted electronically (APDRecords@alamedaca.gov). Records personnel will respond to requests for copies of police reports and other official documents received from community members, insurance companies, and public agencies. The Records Division will respond to your request within 10 days.
