The Alameda Fire Department has a Division Chief assigned as the daily Duty Chief (Battalion 1) for each of our three shifts. This Duty Chief, radio call sign "Battalion 1", is stationed at Fire Station #1 and is responsible for the daily operations and management of their assigned shift. The Duty Chief responds to significant incidents and assumes command of these emergencies to manage our responding fire department resources.
