Alameda Recreation and Park Department (ARPD)

ARPD is proud to be the third oldest park system in the State of California with 24 parks serving more than 15,000 people annually.  ARPD is organized into three divisions: Recreation Services - providing activities for toddlers, children, teens, families and adults; Mastick Senior Center - offering services to adults 50 and better; and Park Maintenance - tending to and keeping our parks clean and safe.  We strive to be resourceful, responsive and collaborative as an integral part of our island city.

  • KEEP IT CLEAN – Bring and use hand sanitizer, especially after touching shared areas such as gates, chairs.  Cough into your elbow.
  • BRING YOUR OWN STUFF – Use your own water bottle for you and your furry friend.  Drinking fountains are closed.  Bring your own poop bags.

STAY HOME IF YOU’RE SICK – Please stay home if you have any COVID-19 symptoms.  People who are vulnerable or have an underlying medical condition should stay home

All playgrounds, picnic areas, outdoor fitness equipment and basketball courts remain closed, in compliance with Alameda County Health orders.  We ask that you respect these closures and the caution tape closing them off.  Everyone is encouraged to bring your own blanket to picnic, play and frolic on open grass areas at parks.  Please wear your mask at all times, which is required if you are within 30 feet of any other people not in your household or social bubble.
