Junior Leaders Volunteer Program

JUNIOR LEADERS VOLUNTEER PROGRAM FOR INCOMING GRADES 9TH TO 12TH FOR FALL 2024
This exciting new program is for Incoming 9th to 12th Graders for Fall 2024 who have previously participated in the ARPD Summer Teen Volunteer Program.  The program aims to prepare Junior Leaders to enter the workforce, and further hone their skills to effectively work with youth while having a fun and meaningful learning experience.
Junior Leaders will be assigned to work alongside Staff in various ARPD youth programs based on need.  In addition to their daily shift, Junior Leaders will participate in a weekly "Staff" meeting with Recreation Supervisor and/or Recreation Manager.  Junior Leaders will learn how to be responsible for leading activities with youth.

PARENTS/GUARDIANS:

Your tween/teen is responsible for all correspondence regarding the Summer Teen Volunteer Programs, such as the Junior Leaders Volunteer Program, beginning with the application process and continuing throughout their volunteer service.

This program strives to prepare your tween/teen for his/her first job.  The more responsibility that your tween/teen volunteer has in the successful execution of completing their service, the better prepared they will be to apply for jobs and enter the workplace.

Please ask your tween/teen to call, email, organize and initiate!  Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.  Questions?  Please direct your teen/tween to contact Ashley Cendejas, Recreation Assistant by email, acendejas@alamedaca.gov or call her at 510-747-7575.
